Happy 2010!

Happy belated 2010, everyone! Wow, to think my first journal entry would be a year and a half after I started this account. I'm just not a journal kind of person. Maybe I should try to start posting more and let people get to know the person behind the avatar.

So. Several people have been submitting old->new art memes lately (soon to be me included) in celebration of the new year and I'm totally in awe at their improvement, some more drastically than others. I really enjoy observing how people's art progresses through the years. It inspires me to wanna get better as soon as possible. There may be some jealousy accountable for my motivation too. Which brings me to the reason why I'm writing this entry: my new year's resolutions. I have several, but when it comes to art, I'd like to be able to draw the human figure adequately and learn how to draw dynamic poses and detailed backgrounds this year. It'd be awesome to learn basic animation too, but I don't think I have the time nor dedication to go that far.

I think I'm the kind of person who can keep commitments to others, but not to herself. But I'll see how this works out.
